Strategic Plan 2005 - 2010 Update

We are now entering the final year of our five year strategic plan.

The first MacKillop Family Services Strategic Plan was adopted in 1998, and the second in 2001. The current Strategic Plan was developed in the first half of 2005, following a series of consultations with staff, management, young people and parents, volunteers and external stakeholders.

We are pleased to report that over the last four years, significant progress has been made in most areas of the Strategic Plan. These include

  • practice frameworks are stronger and a commitment to excellence now permeates the organisation.
  • staff are more satisfied and connected as witnessed by dramatic improvement in the 2008 Employee Survey Report completed by 74 per cent of our staff compared with a similar survey in 2004.
  • we have appointed a Volunteer Development Coordinator to work through all issues of recruitment, retention and recognition of caregivers and volunteers.
  • a number of new systems have been installed including clear lines of management delegation, risk management strategies, and a deeper commitment to governance training of the board, its committees and day-to-day management.
  • new partnerships have been formed with stronger participation in sector peak bodies and agencies.
  • Rebranding has occurred and new fundraising initiatives launched to increase revenue streams in the future.

Plans are now underway for consultation with key stakeholders to create our Strategic Plan for 2011 and beyond.
