Strategic Plan 2005 - 2010

MacKillop Family Services' third Strategic Plan centres on people: the children, young people and families engaged in our services, and the staff, volunteers and carers who work with them.  It recognises that our future directions are shaped by many broad factors, especially emerging social issues, changes in welfare and education, developments in faith communities, and new government legislation and requirements.  There are four themes that run through the four goals in this plan:

Firstly, it builds on foundations established over the last five years in the way we go about our work and the model of review, evaluation and research established in the organisation;

Secondly, there is a consolidation of what we have achieved and a re-emphasis on participation, community building, communication, training, support and development of staff, caregivers and volunteers;

Thirdly, it provides a framework for the development of radically new services where needed, and for achieving recognised excellence in all our services;

Finally, this plan reflects the understanding common to all who participated in its development, that change is inevitable, and that the organisation must anticipate change - in the founding congregations, in government, in community and society.

As an organisation, MacKillop Family Services will seek to grow where development is a natural outcome of our strategic goals.  MacKillop Family Services will therefore continue to be a dynamic organisation, setting achievable goals and growing as needs are encountered and as resources allow.
