Residential Care Workers

  • Out of Home Care - Youth Services North West

MacKillop Family Services is seeking high functioning, warm and assertive people who can provide therapeutic care for the young people living in our residential care homes.

 

Full time and part time positions are in the North West.

 

The successful candidates will have:

 

·         A genuine interest in young people and their wellbeing

·         The ability to encourage and assist our young people to attend school and complete  homework.

·         An enthusiasm to nurture a young person’s identity by linking them into recreational and community activities.

·         The ability to assist our young people with developing age appropriate independent living skills in a safe and supportive manner.

·         The ability to remain calm in a crisis and be emotionally available to young people during and after times of crisis.

·         Good organisational skills and confidence in managing the busy schedule of a home consisting of up to four young people.  This includes cooking nutritional meals, cleaning, budgeting and above all being able to provide a warm ‘home like’ environment for young people who cannot live at home.

 

Training in therapeutic care will be provided as part of the successful applicant’s work and therefore people with a wide range of backgrounds and qualifications are encouraged to apply for this position.

 

If you have the capacity to engage, support, nurture and contribute to the development of young people, then this position may be for you.

 

MacKillop Family Services is one of the largest providers of specialist support services to vulnerable and disadvantaged children, young people and their families in South-Eastern Australia.

Senior Administration Worker

A new position exists for a Senior Administration Worker within Youth Services North West Program. This position requires an experienced person to oversee the administration requirements of the Youth Services Team. The successful applicant will have experience in data collection, recording of statistics, minute taking and filing. A  knowledge of ‘Looking After Children’ recording would be an advantage.

 

The successful applicant will be required to obtain a Working with Children Check and undergo a Police Check.

 

Remuneration is as per the Health and Allied Services - Private Sector Victoria Consolidated Award 1998.

Case Manager

MacKillop Family Services has a full time Case Manager position available. If you have experience working with children and adolescents who display challenging behaviours, have excellent advocacy and liaison skills, knowledge of the Children & Young Person’s Act (2005), have a sound knowledge of the Looking After Children framework, possess relevant tertiary qualifications, have excellent written and verbal skills and a current driver’s licence, this position may be for you.
