MacKillop Family Services Youth Services requires an experienced enthusiastic and innovative case manager for a full time position in our dynamic team.

 

The successful applicants will have experience in the child/youth welfare sector, Case Management principles, Looking After Children Framework and have knowledge of the Children, Youth and Families Act, 2005 i.e. Best Interests Framework.  Knowledge of Trauma and Attachment Theory would be a distinct advantage.

 

Experience in working within a multi disciplinary team will be essential, and knowledge of out of home care will be an advantage.

 

Remuneration and conditions of employment as per the MacKillop Family Services Enterprise Bargaining Agreement, with a salary equivalent to the Social and Community Services Award 2000 (Social Worker Class 3).

Quality Improvement Project Officer

A position exists in the newly formed Quality & Service Development team for a Quality Improvement Project Officer to work as part of a team in supporting and resourcing programs in response to registration and quality assurance processes. The position is based at Flemington Office and is responsible to the Coordinator, Service Development. The person will work in collaboration with the team to identify key priorities and areas or responsibility and at this stage it is expected that the position will have an emphasis on supporting disability programs in response to the introduction of new standards and registration processes. This is an ongoing position but consideration will be given to secondments.

Residential Unit Supervisor

The MacKillop Family Services Southern Residential program has an opening for a full time Residential Unit Supervisor to manage a residential unit located in the southern metropolitan region.

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for the co-ordination of day to day care, nurture and development of the children and young people in care and co-ordinate the daily operation of the Residential Unit.  The successful candidate will also have demonstrated leadership skills and experience working with children and adolescents who may display challenging behaviours and have the capacity to engage and support them.

 

Salary and Conditions of employment are in accordance with the Residential and Support Services (Victoria) Award.

Coordinator After Hours On-Call Service

MacKillop Family Services has a full time vacancy for a suitably qualified and motivated person to work as an On Call Coordinator.

The After Hours On-call Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the After Hours On-call Service and On-call support workers. On-call provides an active after hours and weekend support role to residential staff, home based carers and lead tenants , at our 7 residential units, 4 Long Term Specialist Care units, 2 Family Group Homes,  4 Lead Tenant houses and Home Based Carers situated in the North/West and Southern metropolitan regions.


The successful applicant will need to work independently, and demonstrate a commitment to teamwork. Experience in working with challenging children/ young people in crisis is necessary as is receiving and assessing after hours child protection referrals. Skills in debriefing and defusing will be highly regarded.


This position classification is a SACS Award, level 4 and will involve out of business hours shift and weekend work.

Journeys Support Worker

Mackillop Youth Services is a major provider of out of home care for young people in Victoria.  We are seeking to appoint a Journeys Support Worker within the North/West Youth Service.

 

Journeys’ is a therapeutic service with MacKillop Youth Services (North West). Journeys conducts  monthly therapeutic camps, two monthly group sessions and one Saturday activity day per month for up to 12 adolescent young people residing in residential care.

 

The Journeys Support Worker will work closely with the Drug & Alcohol and Journeys Counselor to assist with the planning and operations of the camps and other sessions.


The Support worker will also assist with the monthly magazine Journey’s Journal.

 

Enthusiasm, a genuine liking for adolescent young people and a love for the outdoors will certainly be an advantage. Relevant tertiary qualifications are required for this innovative and exciting position.

 

Terms and conditions of employment shall be as per the MacKillop Family Services Bargaining Agreement.

This position classification is a SACS Award, level 2 or equivalent.
