The program uses mindfulness and reflection to support parents to communicate with their children.

Parents are supported to reflect on their own experiences of being parented and address sources of unhelpful messages they may have received as children, which might be impacting on their own parenting.

The program is strength-based and draws on childhood development, attachment theory and narrative approaches.

What we can offer:

The programs run for six consecutive weeks, for two hours at a time, and support parents of children up to six years to:

  • communicate with their children
  • build respectful relationships with their children

These programs are provided free to families who can benefit.

Child minding is provided by a MacKillop employee, when needed. All MacKillop employees have a valid Working with Children Check and Police Check.
