Bringing up Great Kids - Western Melbourne

Bringing up Great Kids parenting program helps to build strong and positive relationships between parents and their children and encourages positive self-identity.

The program uses mindfulness and reflection to support parents to communicate with their children.

Parents are supported to reflect on their own experiences of being parented and address sources of unhelpful messages they may have received as children, which might be impacting on their own parenting.

The program is strength-based and draws on childhood development, attachment theory and narrative approaches.

What we can offer:

The programs run for six consecutive weeks, for two hours at a time, and supports parents of children aged six to 10 years to:

  • communicate with their children
  • build respectful relationships with their children
  • encourage the positive development of  their children’s self-identity.

These programs are provided free to families who can benefit.

Child minding is provided by a MacKillop employees, when needed. All MacKillop employees have a valid Working with Children Check and Police Check.

Who is eligible?

These programs are targeted towards the parents of children aged six to 10 years who live in the western suburbs of Melbourne.

This program runs at various community locations across the western metropolitan suburbs of Melbourne.
