“When the boys arrived on our doorstep they had horrible yellow teeth that were rotting, their hair was dishevelled and overgrown, and they were malnourished. I had never seen anything like it before.” - Adele, MacKillop foster carer
Joshua* spent his precious childhood years combing through an empty pantry to get whatever he could to feed himself and his younger brother Henry*: spoonfuls of sugar, lollies, dry pasta.
Their house was a mess. Neither of the boys had a bed—Joshua slept on a beanbag and Henry slept on a mattress on the floor.
What Joshua needed more than anything was a safe, stable, and loving home.
When the brothers arrived on the doorstep of foster carers, Adele and Russell, they were malnourished with rotten teeth and overgrown hair.
These poor boys had felt so much hurt in their young lives—they needed more than just a home to live, food to eat, and a place to sleep. They needed the safety, stability, and love that all children must have to grow and thrive.
Donate before 30 June to help our foster carers meet the needs of one more child who can’t live safely at home.
