MACS-OUT - Barwon

MACS-OUT recreation program promotes inclusion by giving tweens and teens with disabilities the opportunity to participate in fun activities within a group setting.

Is your child sick of sitting around at home on the weekends?
Do they want to make new friends and hang out with people their own age?

Do they like experiencing new and exciting things?
Are they between 8-12 years old (tweens) or 13-17 years old (teens)?

What we can offer:

MACS-OUT recognises that all participants have individual goals and support needs. Our recreational facilitators assist participants to access community, recreational and social activities and to develop their ability to engage in group based activities whilst strengthening their social supports.

Who is eligible?

Young people aged between 8-12 years old and 13-17 years old people residing in the Barwon Region of Victoria, which includes the local government areas of Greater Geelong, Surf Coast and Borough of Queenscliffe.

Participants will be required to have the following support items funded in their NDIS plans:

  • Group based community, social and recreational activities – (Saturdays or Saturdays higher intensity)
  • Group based community, social and recreational activities –( Sundays or Sundays higher intensity)
  • Assistance with self –care night-time sleepover (12am – 6.00am)

Children requiring higher intensity support (1:2) will need to ensure their supports are funded at “higher intensity” rate for both days.

There is an activity cost associated with this program. This covers the cost of all food, accommodation, transport and entry into activities and venues for both days.

The meeting point for these activities is at MacKillop’s Geelong office located at 9 Helen Street, Rippleside.
