Christmas can be the Worst Day of the Year (but doesn't have to be)

Posted on 7 Nov 2014

Imagine a child waking up on Christmas morning, knowing there are no presents waiting under the tree for them.

The joint 3YB/Coast FM and MacKillop Family Services Christmas Gift Appeal is ensuring local children and young people in tough situations avoid that outcome this season.

Children in care often receive very little at Christmas making it a very difficult time – but you can make a real difference by donating a gift to the 3YB/Coast FM MacKillop Family Services’ Christmas Gift Appeal.

“Contributing a gift to this appeal will ensure a vulnerable young person knows that someone cares and is thinking of them,” says Jaine Smiley, MacKillop’s Warrnambool manager.

“These kids have no one else to buy presents for them so even something small and simple can make a huge difference and set them up for a brighter new year.”

Donations can be dropped at MacKillop’s office at 202 Lava Street, in Warrnambool city centre (opposite Aldi). MacKillop asks that the gifts are not wrapped, which will allow them to choose the most appropriate gift for each child.

All gifts donated will go directly to children and young people in the local community.

If you have any questions please give MacKillop a call on 5500 2000.

Your donation will be sure to put a smile on a young person’s face this Christmas.
