Ever Thought About Becoming a Foster Carer?

Posted on 12 Nov 2014

More than 60 children and young people are entering care every week across New South Wales.

Foster care agency MacKillop Family Services is seeking more foster carers in the Hills District to open their hearts and homes to some of the state’s most vulnerable children.

“All types of carers are needed - respite, immediate, short and long-term”, said Jude Ekerick, MacKillop’s General Manager, New South Wales Services.

“We need people who have the patience, resilience and understanding to support children and young people who may not have had the best start in life.”

If you have considered becoming a foster carer, MacKillop is holding a Foster Care Information Session at Rouse Hill on Thursday, 27 November, from 6.15pm – 8.00pm.

The Information Session will cover the different types of foster care available, the steps to becoming a foster carer, how carers are supported by agencies like MacKillop, and the opportunity to ask questions. MacKillop foster carers will also be there to share their personal insights into being carers.

The Session will be held on Thursday, 27 November in the James Cusack Room at the Vinegar Hill Memorial Community Centre located above the Rouse Hill Library in the Rouse Hill Town Centre, Civic Way from 6.15pm – 8.00pm.

If interested in attending, please call (02) 8881 4800 or email louise.carson@mackillop.org.au to register your interest.
