Melton Inclusive School Holiday Program

The Melton Inclusive School Holiday Program (MISHP) aims to provide children with an opportunity to access their local and wider community.

Three young girls playing with blocks. One in a wheelchair.

This aspect of community inclusion is extremely important to these children who are often marginalised and isolated as a consequence of their circumstances.

The program can also be a particularly beneficial form of respite for families and carers.

What we can offer:

  • children are invited to attend up to three days of MISHP during school holiday periods, subject to capacity.
  • MISHP has a strict capacity of 15 children each day, to enable better quality community inclusion and to meet logistical constraints (e.g. vehicle space). Under MacKillop’s inclusion model the allocations each day are split between children with a diagnosis of disability and children without a diagnosis.

There is a cost of $20 per participant per activity.

Who is eligible?

Priority of access is given to children and families receiving case management from MacKillop’s Disability Services or Family and Community Services teams.

Children must be aged from six to 12 years and reside in the Melton local government area in Victoria.
