Vale Pam McPherson

It is with great sadness that we learned about the recent sad passing of one of MacKillop’s longest serving foster carers.

Pam Joy McPherson passed away with loving family by her side on June 21, 2022 aged 79 years.

Pam and her husband Graeme were foster carers for more than 45 years and were supported by MacKillop Family Services for 17 years. Over that time, Pam and Graeme have looked after hundreds of babies and toddlers in the southern region of Melbourne.

Pam and Graeme were leading lights of MacKillop’s ‘Golden Oldies’, a group of three couples who were all long-term foster carers with MacKillop. They supported each other, sharing cots, baby clothes, toys and all kinds of baby necessities whenever one of the couples would be called upon to care for a baby or toddler on short notice.

Pam and Graeme had retired from foster care a few years ago due to ill health and they kindly donated clothes, baby items and cards they had kept from their time caring for children at St. Joseph’s Babies Home in Broadmeadows to MacKillop’s Heritage Centre.

We at MacKillop extend our deepest sympathy to Graeme and their children Donna, Lisa, Paul, John and Liza, and all the extended family.

May Pam Rest In Peace.
