The Sanctuary Institute Australia is a community of trauma-informed learning experts who work with organisations and schools to implement the Sanctuary Model and work with schools to implement the RELATE Model.

The Sanctuary Model is successfully used around the world, providing organisations and schools with the knowledge and tools necessary to create trauma-informed communities that better support people impacted by adversity, as well as staff working in the organisation.

The Sanctuary Institute Australia provides a range of trauma-informed professional learning and consultancy programs, delivered by experienced members of the Australian Sanctuary Institute

Faculty with expertise in a range of community and education services. Levels of implementation and professional learning programs can be tailored to your specific needs and required outcomes.

As a learning community, the Sanctuary Institute Australia is currently researching the impact of the Sanctuary Model in the Australian context in collaboration with Monash University. This will add to the breadth of international research already demonstrating the efficacy of the Sanctuary Model.

The Sanctuary Institute Australia was established by MacKillop Family Services in March 2016, under licence to Sanctuary Institute (USA).

A traumatic experience impacts the entire person – the way we think, the way we learn, the way we remember things, the way we feel about ourselves, the way we feel about other people, and the way we make sense of the world…

– Sandra Bloom, M.D.
