We are seeking Aboriginal community members who can care for and grow up children and young people in Port Hedland/Kariyarra country.
Our carers are local community members who want to support children and young people’s connection to culture and help strengthen local families and their community.
As a foster carer for children or young people you can:
- be single or have a partner
- have children of your own or not
- already care for other children in community
- work, stay at home, study or be retired
- be from walks of life
What matters most is that you can provide a stable, loving and nurturing home environment for a child in need.
All carers are provided with comprehensive ongoing training, 24-hour support, the option of regular short breaks (if needed) and financial assistance.
This unique partnership between MacKillop and Wirraka Maya Aboriginal Health Service aims to ensure Aboriginal children in care are able to stay in their communities.
Do you have a passion for keeping children culturally safe on country?
