Child FIRST supports at-risk families to manage significant parenting problems that may be affecting their child’s development. Some of these issues can include:

  • family conflict and/or breakdown
  • physical or mental illness
  • substance abuse
  • disability
  • social or economic disadvantage
  • isolation and lack of connection to their local community.

MacKillop manages Child FIRST in the Brimbank-Melton region. We are also a part of the alliance that delivers Child FIRST in western metropolitan Melbourne.

The service is available for families with children aged up to 17 years, including those with unborn children.

Working in partnership with the Department of Health and Human Services and a range of community agencies, we link families to the relevant services they need.

How to access this service
