MacKillop’s Family Support Service works with vulnerable families involved in the child protection system to help keep children living safely at home or to reunify children safely to their parents care after a period of time in out of home care.

Families may be dealing with complex issues such as domestic violence, housing instability, school truancy, substance abuse, poor mental or physical health, parenting challenges, relationship difficulties, disability, and youth justice.

The service ensures cultural safety and uses trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches. It provides intensive family support via outreach to build parenting capacity and increase safety.

The Family Support Service is delivered in partnership with local Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO), Danila Dilba.
