The Targeted Early Intervention for Schools Program is targeted at supporting young people to engage in the Walgett Community College High School and also supports students transitioning from primary school to the high school.
Working closely with families, young people and the school, our goal is to support and improve social, educational and well-being outcomes for young people.
Our support includes:
- Connecting students with the services and resources they need to thrive
- Offering holistic, wraparound and supports both in and outside of the school environment
- Encouraging active engagement in learning and participation in school life
- Fostering positive relationships between young people, their families, and the broader community which support their educational outcomes
- Providing students with a sense of choice and control in their lives
- Strengthening the young person’s sense of belonging and connection to their community
- Providing guidance and support to help young people navigate life’s challenges with resilience.
This program is administered by the NSW Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) and co-commissioned with the NSW Department of Education.
How to access this service
The Targeted Earlier Intervention for Schools (TEI4Schools) Program is free and available to young people from Year 6-12 living in Walgett NSW. Young people can self-refer, or be referred through local schools, families and community agencies.
