Christine Sellar fondly remembers her mother’s great devotion to St Anthony, patron saint of the poor.
So when her local church advertised for donors to assist St Anthony’s Family Services in Footscray, she didn’t hesitate to answer the call. Christine firmly believed in its focus on supporting vulnerable families to stay together.
“I supported St Anthony’s – and now MacKillop – because I think it does such valuable work, particularly in areas where it is most needed.”
“We are not wealthy, but we have always had enough to get by and had a very happy family life. Our home has been a secure place and our children have always been loved. We are blessed and I want to give something back to those who haven’t been as lucky as us.”
Along with her busy volunteering roles – Christine spends much of her week working with community organisations – she is also a MacKillop Childhood Partner, giving a monthly donation towards children in need of support, and has generously extended her support by including a gift to MacKillop in her Will.
