When values align

When Walter* reflected on his values he was led to a logical conclusion.

“It just seemed the right thing to do was to remember MacKillop Family Services in my Will as an expression of my concerns for social justice and compassion,” he said.

“After I had provided for my family, I decided to leave a gift so that children and families can have a better future.

“Social justice has always been part of my life and a concern for the marginalised was instilled in me from my childhood.

“My parents taught me that we have an obligation to help those in need and leaving a gift to MacKillop in my Will just seemed to be the right thing to do.”

MacKillop Family Service’s’ work is underpinned by five values: Justice, Hope, Collaboration, Compassion and Respect.

Our loyal donors align with these values, and, as a consequence, many have generously left as a gift in their Will to bring hope and healing to future generations of children and young people.

MacKillop has recently produced a new booklet outlining how remembering our work in your Will can transform the future for families in need.

After you have cared for those you love, even a small gift in your Will to us can make a big difference.

Everyone should have a Will. If you die without a Will and do not have any eligible relatives, the government may receive the proceeds of your Estate.

Importantly, with so many people impacted by the cost-of-living crisis, a gift in your Will costs you nothing today and ensures your concern for others lives on when you pass away.

The booklet looks back on MacKillop’s past and shines a light on the future and how generations to come will benefit from the kindness of people today.
