Tuning in to Teens - Western Melbourne

The Tuning in to Teens parenting programs help parents to build strong relationships with their teenagers and enable them to communicate, even in difficult times.

What we can offer:

The program helps parents to:

  • understand the relationship between their children’s emotions and their behaviour
  • support their children to manage strong emotions and deal with conflict
  • use their children’s emotional experiences as an opportunity for closeness and teaching
  • gain awareness and learn to regulate their own emotions
  • develop skills to assist children to verbally label their emotions
  • develop skills to assist children in problem solving
  • guide children’s behaviour with appropriate limits.

These programs are provided free to families who can benefit.

Child minding is provided when needed by a MacKillop employee. All MacKillop employees have a valid Working with Children Check and Police Check.

Who is eligible?

These programs are targeted towards the parents of young people aged 12 to 18 years who live in the western suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria.

This program runs at various community locations across the western metropolitan suburbs of Melbourne.
