Foster Care Process

Providing culturally nurturing and sensitive environment for our Muslim community during the assessment process is a high priority.

Making the decision to be a foster carer for yourself and your family is something to be highly considered and supported.

We will have information exchange sessions and foster care training to equip potential foster carers with the necessary knowledge and the skills about foster care.

Our assessments are culturally appropriate, respecting the diverse values and the traditions within the Muslim community.

Throughout the process, we will try our absolute best to ensure language is never a barrier.

We can provide interpreters to make sure there is clear and effective communication.

We will have a dedicated Muslim worker who will be your assessor and will be guiding and providing you with the continuous support throughout the paperwork process.

We can translate forms when necessary to accommodate your needs and making sure everyone in your household understands the process.

If you would like to take the first step towards becoming a foster carer, we encourage you to attend one of our online information sessions or submit an enquiry form today through the MacKillop Awlad website.
