Our Lead the Way Towards Well-being conference has been a real celebration of the rights of children and families to have the best care that we can provide. It is the celebration of 30 years of Australia’s ratification of the United Nation’s convention on the rights of the child. And we are so delighted with the conference and the presentations have been wonderful.
It means that we are focused on really deeply listening to children and to young people and to their families. And not just listening but acting on what they tell us. We want them to have influence and we want to recognise their rights very deeply. It’s a real time to deepen our knowledge of trauma and grief. And to focus on what brings hope around healing and around recovery.
Together we are stronger, and this conference has been a collection of practitioners. It’s been wonderful.
