Do you know The MacKillop Institute?

The MacKillop Institute is a part of MacKillop Family Services, and was established to share the experience, expertise, and evidence-based programs with the wider community.

Through their core programs - Sanctuary, ReLATE, Power to Kids and Power to Kids in Schools - The MacKillop Institute aims to empower communities through strengthening cultures of safety, inclusion and wellbeing.

Delivering face-to-face and online training, the Institute collaborates with their partners as they drive transformational and sustainable change and build a culture of wellbeing.

In 2025, the Institute will continue to grow and reach organisations and schools across Australia. One example of this is the upcoming 3-day face-to-face Sanctuary Professional Learning in Adelaide this March.

The Sanctuary model is a workplace culture-change program that introduces practical tools to support people to cope more effectively with adversity and stress and aims to create positive culture change.

The MacKillop Institute collaborates across MacKillop Family Services to enrich the development of training and learning materials, such as the Child Safety Learning Modules, and offer them to organisations and schools to support their focus on wellbeing for their staff, clients or students. The Child Safety Learning modules are designed to build the capacity of schools and school governing bodies to implement Victoria’s child safety requirements.

Developed initially for use in our MacKillop Education schools, the modules have proven effective in equipping staff and school leaders with the knowledge and skills needed to comply with and uphold the Child Safe Standards.
