MacKillop volunteers are an integral part of our organisation. They are a valued resource who contribute to the programs and services we provide and help support vulnerable children, young people and families.
Our volunteers come from all walks of life. They can be single, married, retired, working … the common thread that links them is a commitment to sharing their time and talents to make a difference to many.
Some of our volunteers act as live-in mentors in one of our residential homes, providing a stable, caring and supportive living environment for young people who can’t live safely in their own home. Other volunteers offer practical and emotional support to families with a child or young person living with a disability.
As a MacKillop volunteer you will be supported with ongoing training, supervision and specific guidance when required. In return, we ask that you:
- commit to MacKillop’s policies and values
- are happy to work as part of our team
- undergo a Police Check and obtain a Working with Children Check.
Looking for student placements?
MacKillop is committed to supporting student placements, to provide practical experience to equip students with a range of knowledge and skills relevant to community and human services practice. We can accommodate various disciplines from Certificate IV through to Masters and PhD students. This does not apply to secondary school work experience placements.
We operate a centralised intake process for Student Placements. If you are interested in a student placement with us, please speak with your Education Provider to see if we have an established partnership and can accommodate your placement. Individual requests for student placements will not be considered.
For further enquiries, Education Providers can contact email@example.com.
