MacKillop volunteers are an integral part of our organisation. They are a valuable resource that supports and enhances the programs and services we provide to support vulnerable and at-risk children, young people and families.
Our volunteers come from all walks of life. They can be single, married, retired, working … the common thread that links them is a commitment to sharing their time and talents to make a difference to many.
Some of our volunteers act as live-in mentors in one of our residential homes, providing a stable, caring and supportive living environment for young people who can’t live safely in their own home. Other volunteers offer practical and emotional support to families with a child or young person living with a disability.
As a MacKillop volunteer you will be supported with ongoing training, supervision and specific guidance when required. In return, we ask that you:
- commit to MacKillop’s policies and values
- are happy to work as part of our team
- undergo a Police Check and obtain a Working with Children Check.
Looking for student placements?
MacKillop receives a high number of requests for student placements. As we have ongoing partnerships with many tertiary institutions we can only accommodate those that are part of course requirements and unfortunately cannot offer student placements.
