Innovate Reconciliation Action Plan

In 2018 and early 2019, after a long process of preparation, extensive consultations were held in NSW, Victoria and Western Australia to develop an informed and authentic MacKillop RAP. These Culture, Understanding and Reconciliation Forums revealed the actions we must take to have a meaningful impact in the communities where we work.

The video above provides insight on the forums and the process undertaken to develop our RAP. A significant part of the consultations with Aboriginal communities was truth telling, which involved community members and Elders telling their stories. Truth telling must be at the heart of reconciliation and we were humbled by the trust and courage of those who shared their stories.

At MacKillop we are deeply committed to Aboriginal self-determination and this commitment forms part of our Strategic Plan to ensure that MacKillop is a culturally safe and informed organisation.

We will be collaborating with community and our sector colleagues to implement the actions in our RAP.

We’d love to know what the MacKillop Family Services RAP means to you. Please share your comments and thoughts below.
