As a Rainbow Tick organisation we know how important it is to support and stand alongside the LGBTIQA+ community, which is why we are proud to have attended, marched in, or hosted a stall at a variety of LGBTIQA+ events over the last few summer months.
In WA, we kicked off our Summer of Pride by taking part in Pride WA, marching at the PrideFest Parade as well as hosting stall at the PrideFEST Fairday, a day of community celebration.
In early February, MacKillop staff, friends and families braved the heat to show their support for the LGBTIQA+ community at the annual Midsumma March in Melbourne. Decked out in MacKillop Pride bucket hats and t-shirts, the group marched through the streets in what was a joyous, inclusive and fun-filled day of celebration.
Our foster care recruitment team were also on hand at the Midsumma Carnival Day with our Pride in Foster Care stall. The stall was designed to show that anyone can be a foster carer with our “love is love” tattoo station proving to be a huge hit among carnival attendees.
Finally, we were delighted to host a stall at the recent Mardi Gras Fair Day in Sydney where our penguin photo back drop, temporary tattoos and rainbow twirling sticks drew in the crowds.
Pride is a time to stand together, celebrate diversity, and show our commitment to equality and inclusion. We’re proud to support the LGBTQIA+ community and to be part of these celebrations of love, acceptance, and self-expression.
