Thanks to the amazing work of MacKillop’s donors, this year’s Paw Pals Campaign raised over $100,000, including a generous $30,000 in matched giving.
MacKillop’s Paw Pals program continues to make a powerful difference, placing specially trained therapy dogs alongside children who are struggling with trauma, anxiety, and disengagement from school. These dogs provide a safe and non-judgemental presence, helping them regulate emotions, build relationships and re-engage in learning.
Children who once felt overwhelmed in the classroom are developing confidence, improving attendance, and discovering their strengths. Therapy dogs also support educators to create calmer learning environments and stronger connections with students.
The funds raised this year will go towards training more Paw Pals and extending the program to new communities, thereby ensuring more children can access this life-changing support.
